Ilkka Räsänen
Ilkka Räsänen joined Neste as Director of Public Affairs in January 2012, and was made
Vice President, Public Affairs in 2019.
Prior to joining Nestel, Ilkka served as Director of Public Policy and Head of Office at Intel
Corporation in Brussels. Ilkka joined Intel in September 2001 as a Government Affairs
Manager, and moved to Washington DC in 2005 to establish Intel’s global ICT and
Development function, driving partnerships with major development organizations including
the United Nations and the World Bank.
Prior to joining Intel, Ilkka served nearly 4 years at the European Commission as a member
of Cabinet of EU Commissioner Erkki Liikanen, where his responsibilities included
formulation and negotiating of telecommunications and information society policies and
regulations within the European Union.
Ilkka earned a Master of Arts degree at the University of Helsinki, Finland, majoring in
political science in 1996. He also a holds Master’s degree on European studies from College
of Europe, Bruges, Belgium.
He is married and has three children.
